Good, Better, BST!

The BST Audience is growing and I can't thank each of you enough for helping support the brand!

I figured that this is a grand opportunity to update those of you who may be new.

I have been fielding many similar questions like,

"What is BST?"

"Why BST?"

"Why do you do all of this?"

So in this post, I will lay out;

  1. What BST is

  2. What BST stands for

  3. My mission with BST

  4. Why I "do all of this stuff"

And more.

I am going to start from the very beginning. It all started when I was in college. My first college year, I lived at home, worked at a local gym (that my mom managed). I sold memberships and cleaned up and made coffee for members. Pretty simple gig really.

But it was my first experience to a gym setting where people of all ages and abilities. Just having that every day exposure gave me a feeling of constantly wanting to help people.

Fast forward a few years and I had been certified as a personal trainer and had worked in a couple different gyms settings and I actually really enjoyed it.

But I craved more. More creative freedom. More individuality. Just simply put, more!

That's when I got. Crazy idea that I could coach online clients. I planned out the company details and registered for tax info and took the basic steps to setting up a business.

That stuff was all the easy part. The hardset part was sitting down and thinking of a name. I didn't want to slap my name on the business, and here is why.

I did not want this to be about me. It is, and always has been, about the people that I am fortunate enough to work with and help on their personal fitness journey.

So, while thinking about possible names, I came up with a statement. Become Stronger Today. The next logical step was to abbreviate that.

I felt this was an appropriate name because everyone wants to become stronger. Maybe not physically, buy fitness is more than just moving weights. It's about becoming, not only, physically stronger but mentally and spiritually as well. A solid workout regimen can make you feel better about yourself. It can change the way you look at other tasks or moments in your life.

I am a firm believer that your mindset is much more important than simply having big muscles. If you are mentally strong, the physicality comes as a result.

We are all in different stages of our fitness journey but that doesn't mean our goals aren't similar.

So that explains what BST is and what it stands for.

My mission for BST and all things affiliated? Well that is a little longer story.

Here it goes. BST is my brand. And with any brand, you must gain exposure and my thought with that has been providing as much information as I can through as many different avenues as I can (to better reach a wider audience).

Before I dive deep into this, know that I am not some tech savvy person who loves the spotlight and thrives on front of a camera or what not. I actually didn't even have social media until like 3 years ago. I am 28. So I clearly got a late start in that department.

That being said, I decided to go "all-in" on as many social media platforms as I could figure out and when I realized not everyone uses social media, I decided to create this blog to provide stories like this one. I also use the blog to provide free recipes and more.

More recently, I have found that podcasts have become a much more interested part of people's everyday life, I looked into what I could provide, value wise, to someone listening to me on a podcast and decided to launch that bad boy ( Ruthless self-promotion: All the BST Things on Spotify and YouTube)

I am still learning on the fly with that but it has, honestly, been a great experience. It has given me the opportunity to speak with others in the community and even at the national level and I really enjoy hearing there story of how they have started and what they do with the resources they have. It's truly inspiring.

Like I said in the beginning, I want to provide information and give knowledge to anyone who follows or crosses paths with BST.

As many of you know, 2020 has been a rough year for many businesses and individuals alike. I am fortunate enough to be in a position to continue doing what I love. But not everyone has been so lucky.

With everyone going on, I decided early on that the podcast would allow me an opportunity to hear real stories. To see transparency and be more transparent myself as well as provide assistance to those who listen through different means than simply working out in the gym.

I have been teasing some upcoming projects and I am not prepared to release to much info in this post, but to build off of the previous information, the BST brand has ENORMOUS plans for the rest of this year and moving into 2021!

I am genuinely stoked for what's to come! I love nothing more than providing some sense of "normalcy" for folks as we all whether this storm of uncertainty we are currently experiencing in our country.

Be sure to keep an eye on BST as the focus may be changing while the mission moving forward remains the same.

If you follow me on social media, you can attest to this but I always say

"Smile more."

"Make someone's day."

"Do something for someone today that you didn't plan on doing."

So I'll sign-off from this post, but before doing so, I'll leave you all with this message.

Breathe. Take a step back and find a reason to be grateful for someone or something in your life. Smile more. Fall in love with your life and who you are as a person. We don't know each other's stories leading up to right now, but we can each positively impact one another's stories moving forward.

Be the good news in a world full of bad.

As always, thank you for supporting BST and all past, present and future endeavors. Without you, none of this is possible.

Thank you.
